Experiential Learning Essay (Coursework Sample) Content: Experiential Learning Essay Name Institution Date Experiential Learning Essay Outline Used: Concrete Experience Immediately I enrolled at Brandman University, the first course I took dwelt on writing an effective essay. The process was initially frustrating. In order to make it a little more comprehensible, the professor divided the course into ten distinct steps. These included Research, Brainstorming, Analysis, Thesis, Outline, Paragraphs, Introduction, Conclusion, The Language and Writing Style (Colvin, 2012). Before taking the course, I had confidence in my essay writing ability using the three basic elements that my previous instructors had emphasized: INTRODUCTION gives an overview of the topic BODY outlines the main arguments as briefed in the introduction CONCLUSION summarizes the arguments and gives the final stand One of the most challenging steps in the experiential learning essay was developing a thesis statement. In addition, it was a big problem getting to understand the various referencing styles. The little details that made the difference between styles such as MLA, APA, Harvard and Chicago were difficult to point out and make essay-writing perfect. Personal Reflection: The learning and grasping of concepts in this unit was good until I reached a deadlock at the Referencing Styles. Without an immediate help, I would be sure to fail the unit.
